American
Silver
Tiger
Kenpo
Association
As of January, 1991, the American Silver Tiger Kenpo Association was founded, to honor Grand Senior Master Edmund Kealoha Parker and his teachings...
It is my intention to create and become, an association that expounds the legacy of the 'Ed Parker Kenpo System', to propagate Mr. Parker's most exceptional knowledge of the science of motion as it relates to the 'Art' of Kenpo self-defense...
To this end, I have carefully chosen my Board of Regents from among first generation 'Seniors', first generation 'Peers', and my most senior students...all of unquestionable standing in the American Kenpo realm. My expectation is that each one will offer insight, guidance, and support during the 'ideal' phase of this association, and of course, throughout its maturity...
The curriculum of all ASTKA affiliated schools is based solely on Mr. Parker's Kenpo System. as taught to me by him during my 10 year journey as his student...Included are modifications and updates approved personally by him, before his untimely death in 1990.
It is my hope that with the guidance of this Board, the ASTKA will flourish and become known as one of the 'solid' American Kenpo organizations, while promoting knowledge, understanding, and good will, within the martial arts community...
At this time I would also like to acknowledge and thank some of the instructors, friends and peers that have helped me along my 42 year quest for Kenpo excellence....
